Ehrhardt, South Carolina
South Carolina Bamberg County Ehrhardt
Ehrhardt is located in southern Bamberg County at the intersection of US 601 and SC 64. In 1869, a German immigrant by the name of Conrad Ehrhardt settled in this remote area and built a steam-powered saw mill. The population grew as people moved into the area to take jobs at the mill. Within a few years, the thriving community had a planing mill, a flour and gristmill, a rice mill, a cotton gin, and a general store. The town adopted the name of its industrious founder.
Bamberg is the largest city near Ehrhardt. Here is a map of the Bamberg area.
