Easley is located in Pickens County. It was named for the Confederate General, William King Easley, who championed the railroad for the area in the late 1800s. As soon as the Charlotte-to-Atlanta Airline Railroad completed laying their tracks, surveyors laid out streets for the new town. Easley was chartered in 1873.
Greenville is the largest city near Easley, but Clemson is the largest city in Easley's own Pickens County. Here are maps of the Greenville area and the Clemson area.
