SCIWAY History and Traffic

• SCIWAY has been the leader of South Carolina's Internet for 13 years. We were founded at The Citadel in 1996 and have been privately funded since 1997.

• In both popularity and size, SCIWAY is the largest non-government South Carolina portal on the Web. We have six times as much traffic as our nearest competitor.

• SCIWAY has 7 million unique visitors a year. Together, they view 26 million pages.

SCIWAY Demographics

• Almost everyone who uses SCIWAY lives in South Carolina or wants to move or vacation here.

• After South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia account for the most visitors. Also in the top five out-of-state users are New York, Ohio, Florida.

• One-third of all SCIWAY users earn over $100,000/year.

• SCIWAY has slightly more female users than male users, which mirrors Internet use in general.

• 35% of the people who use SCIWAY are 18-34 years old. 25% are 35-49, and 23% are over 50.

• 75% of SCIWAY's users are Caucasian. 19% are African-American.

SCIWAY Rates for Text Ads

• SCIWAY does not add free text links to businesses upon request. We also do not trade reciprocal links with companies. (We add all SC nonprofit websites for free.)

• A standard, alphabetical text link on SCIWAY (with you phone number and a 35-word company description) costs between $150 and $300 per year. Accommodations and Real Estate-related companies pay $300/year, while all other companies pay $150/year. These text links are called Alphabetical Sponsored Listings. • We also sell one Premium Sponsored Listing per page. This ad costs between $450 and $900/year. Its format is exactly like an Alphabetical Sponsored Listing's format, meaning that it includes a text link, your phone number, and a 35-word description of your company. However, since it is not subject to alphabetical order, it allows you to appear at the top of a page regardless of your company's name. It also allows you to use any anchor link text you choose, provided it does not exceed 80 characters.
  
  Premium Sponsored Listings are a great choice for pages with a lot of competition and for companies who want the most possible traffic to their sites. A listing at the top of the page will always bring you more traffic than a listing further down. Once you own the Premium Sponsored Listing, it is yours to keep as long as you renew each year. You cannot be bumped off by another advertiser.

SCIWAY Rates for Image Ads

• Image ads are also available. Costs are based on page traffic over the past 12 months. All image ads sold on SCIWAY are exclusive, meaning that your ad will appear 24/7 and will not rotate with competing ads. All image ads are sold on annual terms. We will talk to you about your needs and email you a written quote, generally within two business days.

  Image ads on SCIWAY range between $500 and $4500/year. Our ad sizes are IAB leaderboards (728x90 pixels) and IAB medium rectangles (300x250 pixels). Both appear above-the-fold. Prices do not include the creation of the ad itself. Advertisers are responsible for supplying their own graphics.
